PR Council’s Critical Issues Forum Sees Brand Transformation, Cyber Conflict, Former White House Directors and More

New York, New York – (September 15, 2017) – The PR Council’s Critical Issues Forum kicks off today, with industry leaders discussing 5G PR and how the many forms of engagement that comprise public relations are the embodiment of “5G.” PR is of, by and for connectivity: connecting the right people at the right times and in the right places to deliver the right impact for clients and – many times – the world.

“PR’s speed and connectivity helped put our discipline at the center of marketing services,” said Matthew J. Harrington, Global Chief Operating Officer at Edelman and PR Council Chair. “But in a 5G world, the challenges around both are becoming more complex every day. This year’s Critical Issues Forum taps into the best thinking across our industry for useful insights and valuable solutions.”

“PR is about connection – connecting the right idea to the right people at the right time over the right channels to make the right impact for brands, people and the world around us,” said Gail Heimann, President of Weber Shandwick and PR Council Board Member. “The opportunity before us — the mandate, really — is to engage each day with more precision, substance and speed than we did yesterday. This will be our focus at the Critical Issues Forum.”

Breakthroughs in technology and digital will continue to impact all human activity; so how can PR professionals adapt and lead this transformation? Join us as we explore what 5G means to our industry, and what’s at stake if we don’t get it right. prcouncil.net/critical-issues-forum
