Fresno State Senior Wins Exclusive PR Leadership Package

New York, NY – (September 15, 2015) – The PR Council, the industry’s trade association, has named Niko Kazanjian of Fresno State University the winner of the 3rd “Take Flight with PR” video contest.

The winning submission was selected by a blue ribbon panel of judges from the PR industry. The grand prize includes: $1,500, a trip to New York City to premiere the video at the Council’s annual member dinner on October 21st, and the opportunity to meet with PR Council member firms.

“Niko’s video demonstrated strong creativity and passion for a worthy cause,” said Kathy Cripps, president, PR Council.  “It is our hope that videos like his, and the many other outstanding pieces submitted this year, will inspire students that public relations can be a force for good in the world, and is a career where you can make a real difference.”

This year’s contest asked students to select a cause important to them, and show how they would use public relations to promote it.  Kazanjian’s entry, “Reduce Emissions, Increase Life” was a call to action to combat respiratory diseases by reducing carbon emissions. His video weaved together real world images and health statistics to help make his campaign’s case.

A team from Northern Iowa University, led by Brittany Lynn Holthaus, Tobias Henderson and Kathryn Storey, was named runner-up.  Their video was titled: Carrying Hope. One Education at a Time.
