The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and the late, legendary NC State basketball coach Jim Valvano with one goal in mind: to achieve Victory Over Cancer®. Since its formation in 1993, the V Foundation has awarded over $225million in cancer research grants nationwide and has grown to become one of the premier supporters of cutting-edge cancer research.

Through advocacy, education, fundraising and philanthropy, the V Foundation seeks to make a difference by generating broad-based support for cancer research and creating an urgent awareness of the importance of the war against cancer.

Since 2011, French / West / Vaughan has worked closely with the Foundation’s marketing and communications team to create meaningful and impactful creative assets that drive awareness and raise funds, ultimately enabling cancer researchers to continue their groundbreaking work.

The agency designs ever­green print ads for the V Foun­da­tion, which appear in ESPN The Maga­zine and various program guides. Featur­ing eye-catching designs, these print ads serve as a reminder for the impor­tant work the Foun­da­tion has done, coupled with a stirring call-to-action to join the fight against cancer.







We completed a design refresh for the V Foun­da­tion website. With a primary focus on dona­tion aware­ness, FWV’s design not only captured users’ atten­tion to donate with the use of bold, bright graph­ics, but also stream­lined the entire dona­tion page/​process – making it easier for users to contribute.
