Our company does not have any gifting/incentives in place for employees when they reach tenure milestones (5 years, 10 years, etc.) and it’s something we’d like to put in place.Would love to hear what others do for this, whether it’s additional paid leave or a sabbatical, bonuses, or other creative things!

Offers 4 weeks at the 10-year anniversary milestone. We experimented with a 2-week sabbatical at 5 years, but with PTO, Summer Fridays, paid holidays, early closures and holiday week closure, the additional 10 days off really put a strain on our teams.C+C
We offer a 2-week sabbatical (or the bonus equivalent) after 10 years of service, and a 4-week sabbatical at 15 years. We’re working on plans for 20-year sabbaticals, but it will likely be 6 weeks, and perhaps 6 weeks + a cash bonus.Hoffman
We offer four weeks off after four years of full-time employment. Must take the full four weeks at one time. Can combine with PTO to extend. No strings attached upon return.Jackson Spalding
JS offers sabbaticals at 10-year increments for regular/benefits eligible employees (part-time or full-time). We pay for 4 weeks and celebrate them A LOT in the month of their anniversary and ask them to share with the agency a little bit about their time with the company and what they plan to do on their sabbatical.Laura Davidson PR
4 weeks paid sabbatical after 10 years of service.Marathon Strategies
Full-time employees who have worked for more than five consecutive years are eligible to apply for a one month (4 weeks) paid sabbatical leave and after ten consecutive years of full-time employment, employees may apply for two months (8 weeks) paid sabbatical leave. Sabbatical leave must be taken within one (1) year of the employee’s anniversary date. The opportunity to take a sabbatical will expire 1 year from the employee’s anniversary date. If they are granted and have taken a sabbatical, they are not eligible to apply for another sabbatical leave for five years following completion of the last sabbatical. They must submit their leave request at least three months in advance of the actual leave date. So far, it’s been working and a one-third of our staff are currently eligible but as of last year only a handful have applied.Mission North
7 weeks of paid sabbatical after 7 years of service.Padilla:
– $25 gift card for all work anniversaries
– Milestone anniversaries are recognized by the president at the monthly all-staff meeting and cash gift: 3 years = $100, 5 years = $150, 10 years = $450, 15 years = $750, 20 years = $1,000, 25/30 years = $1,500
– Starting at 10 years, we also do a “5 Questions” interview on the intranet with “classic” photos. Questions include things like:
– What do you remember from your first day?
– If you could go back to day one and have a cup of coffee with your younger self, what advice would you give?
– What is your greatest career accomplishment?
– Where do you see the agency and the industry in the next 5-10 years?
– What would we find you doing outside of work?Propellr
One month off after 5 years.Racepoint Global
We’ve had a sabbatical program since we were founded. Our sabbatical program is a 4-week sabbatical + $1,000 at every five-year anniversary and monthly recognition in all-staff meeting. VPs+, in lieu of sabbatical, receive a loyalty bonus.Reputation Partners
We offer four weeks after seven years of service. 18-month commitment to stay with the firm after completion of the sabbatical. Rehired employees are eligible (prior seniority is counted) but must work for 2 years upon rehire to use the benefit. The benefit can be used again after requalifying (7 additional years of service). Can combine with PTO.Saxum
A one month paid sabbatical after someone has been with Saxum full-time for 7 years. They can then take advantage again every 5 years after the initial 7-year eligibility.Strategic Objectives:
– 3-, 5- & 10-year work anniversaries
– Handwritten cards signed by our co-founders, mailed to their house
– Short speech by their talent manager at our year-end holiday party, along with cash gift: 3 years = $300, 5 years = $500, 10 years = $1,000Small Girls PR
We offer 4 weeks at 10 years of service. We do something special for every anniversary whether it’s a robe & SGPR class ring (a la graduation theme) at 4 years or extra 5 PTO days + roundtrip domestic airfare at 5-year anniversary, so 10 years is the big one. Can’t combine with PTO to extend. No handcuffs upon return. But we are working through language about how it interacts with PTO in CA because of the state laws that allow PTO rollover. We’ll likely put a clause in to ensure someone is not banking all of their PTO in favor of the sabbatical which would cause the team undue burden spanning two calendar years.Walker Sands
We offer a $2,000 bonus and a two-week sabbatical at five years and every five after that. Years ago, pre-COVID, the money was meant to be for a vacation. At the time we had accrued PTO, and we granted 5 days of PTO plus the bonus and would only put the money on payroll once people had something booked. After we implemented flexible PTO, we wanted to ensure it was still an attractive benefit, so we added the two-week sabbatical language. We also no longer require people to travel but to “do something that brings them joy.” We had one person use the money to send their dog to a training school as an example. We try to collect stories from it to use as internal marketing.Zeno Group
We have a tiered program with paid sabbatical time + a net bonus:10 years of service: 3-week sabbatical +$1,000 service award
15 years of service: 3-week sabbatical +$1,500 service award
20 years of service: 4-week sabbatical + $2,000 service award
25 years of service: 5-week sabbatical + $2,500 service award
30 years of service: 6-week sabbatical + $3,000 service award
35 years of service: 6-week sabbatical + $3,500 service award
40 years of service: 6-week sabbatical + $4,000 service awardHallie Hatch

We made this effective in 2025 and granted half-time credit to current employees to calculate eligibility (this was to help balance a large number of employees who became eligible immediately after the policy was in place.)

Thank you, Kristin! I felt like we had discussed this topic in the past, but when I tried searching the archives, nothing came up. Appreciate you!
